The scan card on the phone, down to the controls
Scanning is what the phone home screen is for, so the card at the top of it should be the shortest thing on the page rather than the tallest. The camera and the tag reader now share one row, and the two paragraphs explaining them are gone.

Improved The camera and the tag reader now sit side by side, giving the rest of the screen a row back.
"Scan with camera" and "Tap an NFC tag" now sit side by side instead of stacked, which gives the rest of the screen a row back. On a phone that cannot read tags — every iPhone, and any Android without the radio — the camera button still takes the full width rather than leaving a gap beside it, and starting the camera gives the preview the whole row so there is still something to aim with.

The two paragraphs in the scan card — the one under the heading and the one under the label field — are gone. The controls already say what they do, the field now names all three ways of getting a code into it, and every message left in that card appears because something happened: a code nothing answered to, a camera that was blocked, a tag with nothing written on it.
