The middle of the story

The version history now reads one line per change, with the whole story a press away.

Open a line to read the whole story behind it.

  • Improved A release now reads as one line per change, and each of them opens onto the whole story.

Opening a version used to mean reading every paragraph in it to find the one change you came for — five changes were five paragraphs, and the longest of them ran to a screenful. A release now reads as one line per change, in the same order and with the same New, Improved or Fixed beside it; press one and the whole story of that change unfolds under it, press it again and the list is short once more. A line with nothing more to tell than the line itself — the early versions were written that way — simply does not open. So the page is three steps deep now rather than two: the list of versions, one line per change, and the story behind whichever line you pressed.

Dates, not deadlines

Each date is the day that work landed, and nothing more. It is not a support window, not a promise that a version stays available, and not a schedule for the next one.
