The phone takes the pictures

A product's photos can now be taken, turned and removed from the phone, standing in front of the thing itself — and two of the print controls inside a list behave themselves again.

• New A product now has a Photos screen on the phone: take new ones with the camera, turn them the right way up, and remove the ones you do not want.

  Photos were the one thing you could add while cataloguing something new on the phone, and after that they were desk work — which meant either carrying the part back to a computer or photographing it on your phone and emailing it to yourself. Now the product screen has a Photos tile. Open it and you see every picture of that product at full width, one per row, so you can tell at a glance whether a photo is any good. Underneath is the camera: take several at once, or pick them from your library, and they all upload together. Tap a picture to see it large, turn it a quarter at a time until it is the right way up, and save — the turning costs nothing until you save it. Delete is there too, on the picture and in the list. Everything else about a product is still changed at a computer, where there is a keyboard: this is here because the phone is the thing with the camera. If somebody shares their warehouse with you without letting you manage it, you see the photos and none of the buttons.

• Fixed The ×1 menu beside any print control inside a card no longer opens half off it, cut in two.

  A card trims off anything that hangs outside it, and the stock table inside it did the same — so a menu opened from a line in that card, or from the button under a list, was sliced at the edge with one option of six left showing, and sometimes drifted off the side of the screen as well. The menu is unchanged; the card and the table no longer trim what opens inside them, and the menu now opens towards the middle of the screen rather than away from it. The table is wide enough for its four columns either way.

• Fixed Opening a stock line that holds a single serial, or a single best-before date, no longer shows a second print button for “all of them”.

  Each row in that list already has its own print link, and underneath them sat a button for printing the whole lot at once. With one row those were the same label, on the same printer, with the same message underneath each — two controls to read and nothing to choose between them. The button now appears only when there are two or more rows for it to save you pressing, which is what it was for. The label for a single row is still one tap on the row itself.
