Best-before dates, and an app that explains itself

Stock gained a date and a report to watch it with. And since nobody is here to train you, the app also learned to explain itself — help you can read while using it, and public pages you can read before signing up.

Open a line to read the whole story behind it.

  • New A best-before date on stock as it arrives, kept on the dated batch that carries it.

A best-before date on stock as it arrives, kept on the dated batch that carries it — so two deliveries of the same thing each keep their own date instead of sharing one.

  • New A reports section that answers questions and changes nothing, starting with a best-before report: what has already gone off, what goes this week, and what goes this month.
  • New A help section in the user menu: walkthroughs for setting up a house, a hobby room or a workshop, a guide for each kind of record, and step-by-step workflows.
  • New A public page naming exactly how your data is protected — the algorithms, the settings, and what is deliberately not stored.
  • New A public page explaining what a paired phone does, and why a label prints on a computer instead of out of the phone.
  • New This page: every version, what changed in it, and the version you are running.
  • Improved The public pages now draw the screens they describe instead of describing them in prose.
  • Improved A photo that came out sideways can be turned by whoever uploaded it.
  • Fixed An image link now points at the picture the file currently holds, so a replaced photo stops showing the old one.
  • Fixed A print station with no label roll of its own now follows the roll set on your profile instead of refusing the job.

Dates, not deadlines

Each date is the day that work landed, and nothing more. It is not a support window, not a promise that a version stays available, and not a schedule for the next one.
