Scan a barcode and see what it is, even if you have never catalogued it

The "What is this?" screen already read any code back to you and said whether this warehouse knew it. Now, when the code is a shop barcode, it also says what the article is publicly listed as — so an unlabelled carton tells you something even before you decide whether to add it.

Open a line to read the whole story behind it.

  • New "What is this?" now also shows the name and brand the public barcode database has for a code.

Scanning a barcode on the "What is this?" screen now also shows the product name and brand the public barcode database has for it, under whatever your own warehouse said. It is somebody else's description of the article and is shown as one — it never changes a name you have given a product, and it appears only when that database actually has an entry.

  • Improved The pages describing the app are now listed at the bottom of the help page, so you need not sign out.

The pages describing the app itself — phone and labels, security, what it works with, what is new, the roadmap, and the four legal notices — are now listed at the bottom of the help page, which the menu under your name reaches as "Help and information". They were only ever on the footer of the signed-out welcome page before, which meant signing out to read them.

  • Improved The not-found and maintenance pages are written properly now, in your own theme and language.

The two pages nobody plans to see have been written properly. A link that goes nowhere now lands on an empty shelf that says so in your own language, admits we looked behind the boxes, and points you back to your things — instead of a bare "Not Found" in a font you have never seen. And while the app is briefly away being tidied, the page you get says what is happening, that everything you wrote down is exactly where you left it, and when to try again. Both follow your theme and your language, as the rest of the app does.

  • Improved A menu in the top bar now closes when you open another, click elsewhere, or press Escape.

A menu in the top bar now closes when you open another one, when you click or tap anywhere else on the page, or when you press Escape. Before, every menu you opened stayed open until you found your way back to the button that opened it, so two of them could sit over the page at once and cover what you were trying to reach.

  • Fixed The note about taking a scanner out of keyboard mode is readable in dark theme again.

The note explaining that a scanner has to be taken out of keyboard mode now sits on a dark panel in dark theme, instead of a light block that left its own text almost invisible. Nothing it says has changed, and it looked correct in light theme all along.

Dates, not deadlines

Each date is the day that work landed, and nothing more. It is not a support window, not a promise that a version stays available, and not a schedule for the next one.
