Choose the printer first

A Brother printer can be chosen in a browser before the first label, and a print station now says why a label did not come out.

Open a line to read the whole story behind it.

  • New A Brother label printer can be chosen in this browser ahead of time, under Label printing or Print stations.

The browser only reaches a USB printer it has been allowed, and that permission belongs to the browser on this computer rather than to your account. The new control says whether this browser already has the printer, lets you choose it, and lets you take the permission back. A print station, where nobody is there to answer the browser’s question, can now be set up so its first label prints.

  • Improved A label a print station could not print now says why: the printer was not chosen there yet, it needs someone present, or it could not be reached.

Until now these all read as the printing software refusing the label. The recent labels list under Print stations now names the actual reason, and what to do about it.

  • Improved When a label cannot reach a Brother printer, the message says why in plain words.

Closing the printer list, a computer whose own driver holds the printer, or a cable that let go each get their own sentence next to the print button, instead of the browser’s technical text.

Dates, not deadlines

Each date is the day that work landed, and nothing more. It is not a support window, not a promise that a version stays available, and not a schedule for the next one.
